The Project
Join Sparke & Keane’s CSRD and Sustainable Business Transformation Project!
Sparke & Keane is a dynamic consulting firm with over 100 highly skilled consultants, offering expertise in strategy, finance, business intelligence, and digital transformation. Based in Southeast Netherlands, we help companies navigate complex challenges with a lean, practical approach.
Our clients face growing pressure to transform their business models to become more sustainable and circular, driven by regulations such as the CSRD (Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive). To support this transition, we are in need of a structured approach to understand how thematic reporting on sustainability efforts is being done in the market and how it influences business models. With this knowledge Sparke & Keane can help clients adapt more quickly and easily. By analyzing the first validated CSRD reports in the market and developing actionable tools or templates, we aim to equip our consultants with the means to guide clients toward impactful, sector-spanning transformations aligned with regulatory and sustainability goals.
The project will be built up in two phases:
- In phase 1 you become familiar with CSRD by following our CSRD workshop and by going through the actual directive and deliverables of last year’s premium group, hereby showcasing how Sparke & Keane has grown on the topic since then. Our students will also get a crash course on project management following our philosophy and learn to understand the Business Model Canvas.
- In phase 2 the actual work starts separated between two work streams:
- Workstream A: starts with an analysis of newly released CSRD reports (expected February-March 2025) from several companies of your choosing, analyzing the reporting themes, but also the incentive and message underneath the hard facts. What are the company’s intentions on reporting certain specifics? Does CSRD actually create comparable reports? Which themes are prominent in these reports?
- Assistive tool to analyse released CSRD reports;
- Early market summary or presentation on themes and incentives in CSRD reports;
- Best practices for our consultants in generating CSRD reports;

- Workstream B: hereafter you map their business models and assess how this has either already changed or how the goals set in their CSRD reports will influence the companies’ business models. After evaluating the (expected) consequences of the CSRD processes, the students are free to design a form of deliverable that fulfils the needs explained below. Deliverable can take the form of for example:
- Overview of overlapping business model transitions.
- Template or other creative and sector-agnostic tool that can provide our consultants with the confidence to assist change management projects.
