FASHIONCLASH Publication: reflective take on its 15+ years archive, portfolio and method
How can we create a publication about FASHIONCLASH? Not just another book to disappear in bookcases, but a sustainable, innovative and interactive archive that on the one hand paints a picture of the method and on the other hand can become a valuable medium for others to use.
FASHIONCLASH has been active since 2009 and has now built up a rich archive of images, videos and a portfolio of more than 250 projects.
FASHIONCLASH has been active since 2009 and has now built up a rich archive of images, videos and a portfolio of more than 250 projects., supported over 2000 artists and designers. FASHIONCLASH is placed in a unique position within the international fashion scene, as one of the longest-running fashion platforms specialized in crossovers with other art forms, talent development and participation of a broad audience. FASHIONCLASH’s working method has been very unique and effective and we won’t to develop and sustain the existence of the platform.
Now that FASHIONCLASH has a more mid-carreer status, it is time to reflect on its own archive, methodology and the different zeitgeists that have passed by. The goal is not just to produce a printed publication, but to reflect on the working method, contextualize it and make it accessible to everyone. Such a publication is intended as a document accessible to everyone. It is a reflection on our own working method combined with social developments. FASHIONCLASH works transparently and shares its own process and knowledge to contribute to a better (fashion) world.
But it’s not that simple at all. Where do we start? What forms of publication are conceivable? What would there be a need for from the network/community?
