The medical products which doctors, surgeons, technicians, and researchers use daily are often overlooked, and yet are critical pieces which save can lives and/or dramatically improve quality of life for patients. Medical accessories, for example needle electrodes, stimulating probes and surgical instruments for intraoperative nerve monitoring, can be the difference between a patient leaving the operating room with permanent paralysis or not.
Technomed produces these valuable medical accessories, such as electrodes (needles, surface, EEG cups) and surgical instruments (probes, needles, dissectors) specialising in clinical neurophysiology (CNP) and intraoperative nerve monitoring (IONM).
This project is to develop a marketing campaign for one of our existing products, which should include a basis in market research and clinical user feedback. This campaign should also provide product improvement suggestions based on feedback discovered in the field. Students will be exposed to all aspects of marketing within a growing medical device company, learning the importance of regulatory and quality processes, engineering and project development/innovation procedures and more. This project will provide Technomed with a valuable marketing work package, but also provide students with an insight into the unsung heroes of the medical field, medical accessories.
