ORGfit

Scientifically validate and optimize ORGfit’s self-developed O7 organizational design model, identifying gaps and opportunities to enhance its practical application and value for clients in the public sector and beyond.

The Project

The Project

ORGfit is a high-end consultancy firm that helps organizations in the public sector become future-proof and agile. At ORGfit, we are continually focused on the development of our clients and our employees, which is why we hold a talent development certification.

We operate based on a self-developed organizational design model that ensures organizations are designed to be future-proof: The 07 model.
The O7 model is a self-developed organizational design model and serves as a tool for approaching change management issues from a specific perspective. As the name suggests, the model consists of seven rings, or elements, where the order is important. This self-developed model has been created due to the lack of a proper model that suited both the services and clients of ORGfit. Existing models either did not align sufficiently with practical application (being too simplistic) or were too abstract or complex to explain. The underlying concepts are derived from the book Management control – Dynamisch balanceren tussen basis op orde en innovatie (Franssen, Arets 2015).

This 07 model has been developed based on needs and practical experiences. And while this model serves as the starting point for every development task, it has not yet been scientifically validated. Therefore, we are curious about the extent to which this model is valid, what shortcomings and gaps it may contain, and how we can further optimize it. By doing such an assessment, we aim to make the model more valuable and applicable not only for our clients but also potentially for organizations in other sectors. This importance is only growing as ORGfit’s O7 conceptual model is being increasingly adopted by clients and incorporated into educational programs.

The results of the assessment will be used to further enhance the model and potentially publish it, so it can also be utilized by other organizations in different contexts or as teaching materials for educational institutions. In addition, ORGfit provides masterclasses as part of the training programs for prospective supervisors and board members together with UMIO. UMIO is part of Maastricht University and specializes in training for professionals. This model is already part of the current masterclass, but the results of the scientific assessment/validation will enhance the quality of the masterclass and provide participants with a reliable tool to use in their own organization.

ORGfit provides a dynamic environment where various current and complex issues are addressed daily. During the execution of the project, we offer you the opportunity to learn more about our clients’ challenges, the practical application of the models, and the associated results.

Research-oriented

In this project, the focus is on “discovering something new”

The Client

The Client

ORGfit is a high-end consultancy firm with a strong position in Southeast Netherlands. ORGfit is the market leader in Limburg for complex consultancy projects in the public sector (healthcare organizations, municipalities, educational institutions, and housing corporations). In addition, it is also active with larger SMEs. Examples of projects include optimizing processes and management information, implementing (financial, HR, and organizational) systems, recalibrating strategies, or guiding partnerships. In doing so, customer value is the starting point, and through an integral framework of thinking, always in collaboration with the client, the customer’s development task is fulfilled. ORGfit not only provides advice but also ensures that the advice is implemented sustainably.

Formal Client

This client provides an assignment and perceives the team of students as consultants doing a job for them. The formal client provides guidance and supports the team with feedback, but is not actively involved in project execution.
“This research has been a priority within ORGfit for some time, but due to a lack of time, it has not (yet) been possible to actively pursue it. A role as Formal Client is the most fitting within the current dynamics of projects at client organizations.”
