Bridging Generations: Future-Proofing COMMEET for Sustainable Growth
COMMEET, while rich in expertise, is currently driven by an older demographic that struggles to maintain a strong connection with younger generations. This challenge threatens the organization’s longevity and its ability to innovate within the ever-evolving landscape of the SDGs. The primary objective of this project is to develop a comprehensive future-proofing strategy that aligns COMMEET with the needs, values, and communication styles of Generation Z, ensuring the organization’s long-term impact
This PREMIUM project focuses on developing a strategy to bridge this generational gap, positioning COMMEET to attract, engage, and empower younger members, including those still in secondary school. The project will require students to delve into generational dynamics, study effective organizational transformation strategies, and propose a sustainable model that secures COMMEET’s future through intergenerational collaboration.
Our objectives for this project are ambitious:
- Research generational engagement: We would like an analysis of how generational shifts impact non-profit and SDG-driven organizations. Explore best practices for bridging the gap between older and younger generations in leadership, participation, and operational models.
- Develop a transformation plan: We need your expertise to propose and design a strategy that reshapes COMMEET’s structure and approach to inclusively incorporate younger voices and leadership, ensuring a more balanced and dynamic future. This could include for example mentorship programmes, reverse-mentoring initiatives, or advisory councils composed of younger individuals.
- Develop innovative communication strategies: The project could also involve creating a multi-channel communication strategy, including social platforms, outreach campaigns, and community-driven content, aimed at engaging and retaining younger audiences globally.
- Pilot initiatives for youth engagement: Pending on how the team progresses, we would like you to develop and propose pilot projects or initiatives that actively engage Generation Z, encouraging them to take ownership of COMMEET’s mission. These pilots could include hackathons, youth summits, or other collaborative efforts that connect COMMEET’s experienced members with younger activists and entrepreneurs.
- Explore financial sustainability through youth partnerships: Identify potential financial models and partnerships that resonate with younger generations, helping COMMEET sustain itself in the long term through diversified, innovative funding strategies that appeal to a younger donor base or corporate partnerships targeting youth-driven causes.
“We seek to improve the world, and we want to achieve this with cheerful solidarity.”

The COMMEET Fellowship is an international organisation, established to support and promote the realisation of the UN Sustainable Development Goals 2030.The COMMEET Fellowship aims to promote the 17 SDGs through community empowerment, enabling local populations to take ownership of their future. We provide communities with instruments (toolkits) to start improvement activities. We also try to inspire these communities to exchange experiences and cooperate where possible with other communities. To this end we collect examples of good practice in our Experience Centre.
COMMEET’s fellows dream of a better world that brings us closer to the targets of the UN SDGs. We believe that egoism and individualism should be left behind and that our future lies in cooperating towards a social society with solidarity among people. We are also convinced that local communities all over the world should be enabled to take the responsibility for this new and social future into their own hands. The new world is theirs!
We have been a PREMIUM client for quite some years now, and value this programme and its students immensely.
