Through interactive sessions and practical exercises, participants will develop essential skills to enhance their professional journey.

After attending this workshop, participants will be able to:

  • Comprehend the foundational concepts of generative AI.
  • Recognize the importance of effective prompting in generating desired outputs.
  • Utilize AI tools for personal and career growth, including generating personalized development plans, and exploring new career paths.
  • Tailor prompts for personalized job applications and cover letters while avoiding common pitfalls.
  • Use AI to generate common and role-specific interview questions and conduct mock interviews.
  • Simulate negotiation scenarios with AI tools.

No previous knowledge is required to follow this workshop, but we do request you bring your laptop for the practical exercises.

Laura is a dedicated trainer specializing in the soft skills required for effective media and new technology use. With a background in communication and interactive media, she empowers students to maximize the potential of digital tools. Originally from Peru, Laura earned her master’s in the Netherlands. She thrives in international environments because of the diverse insights that come from such settings. She has extensive experience in digital marketing and digital transformation, providing her with a comprehensive understanding of generative AI’s impact across various business stages and industries. Laura led the design of our GenAI Essentials masterclass, piloted at Erasmus University Rotterdam in May 2024, and is currently spearheading its redesign and expansion to a 6-week course to incorporate updates like ChatGPT-4.0. She is passionate about the opportunities generative AI presents while being mindful of its limitations and risks. Her proactive approach and curiosity into new tech, apps, and gadgets ensure students are well -prepared to navigate the digital landscape with confidence.

Workshop: "LEAN Thinking: The Art & Tools to Streamline Chaos"

This workshop will focus on introducing LEAN principles, with a focus on visual tools that students can support the application of efficient working in different sectors. In an interactive fashion, students will be introduced to different methods and learn to apply these directly to their own work, study and/or living environment.
Two of Sparke & Keane’s LEAN certified Consultants will provide the training, while sharing practical knowledge and experience from the business world with the students. This offers the students a unique opportunity to see concrete applications of LEAN as practical examples of its possibilities.

In her free time she experiments with fermenting vegetables, practices yoga in her garden every morning and she swims in the sea (almost) all year round.

During this session, students explore whether pursuing a PhD and an academic career aligns with their future goals. Participants will gain insight into both the benefits, such as intellectual fulfillment, research autonomy, and opportunities to contribute to their field, as well as the challenges, including the pressure to publish, job market uncertainties, and potential personal sacrifices.
The session will help students to reflect on their own aspirations and make a well-informed decision about whether to embark on a PhD journey. By the end of the workshop, students will be equipped with a balanced perspective to determine if academia is the right fit for their career aspirations.

Congratulations, you’ve found a job! Your employer has invited you for a meeting to discuss your offer.

How do you negotiate your salary? Which aspects do you need to take into account when signing your labor contract? What are the ins and outs of such a conversation? Which fringe benefits, next to salary, might make up your contract? Do you immediately agree to the offer you receive? Does your contract include a notice period or non-compete clause? What does the pension scheme look like? And is your salary offer around the market rate?

These are all questions that will be addressed during the workshop Contract Negotiations. You will get a better overview of all possible aspects of your future labour contract.

Listening, recognizing patterns and connecting people and concepts – that’s what I do best.
Be it as a coach for young adults, trying to find their way to the labour market. Or as a trainer, facilitating team dynamics and group learning. As a project consultant, co-ordinating tasks and getting things done.
Whatever I do, I like to question, to connect and co-create with colleagues, students and other stakeholders. I prefer to work based on principles of Design Thinking, Appreciative Inquiry and LEAN – always looking for result and added value. As a trainer / facilitator I enjoy creating a light-hearted and safe environment in which change is not a threat, but a challenge that can be approached in a playful way.

Your facilitator in this process is Adina Petre, a Clinical Psychologist and High-Performance coach with over a decade of experience in entrepreneurship, education, human and business development. Mona Shair-Wloch is the founder and principal trainer of key2advance, a coaching, training, career services and internship coordination consultancy. From 2007-2013, she led a high profile internship program at the European Parliament in Brussels for students from all over the world under the patronage of Pat Cox, former president of the European Parliament. Since 2010, she secured and coordinated internships for students at multiple universities and has coached recent graduates into finding opportunities that match their skills and interests. She has extensive experience in helping students gain clarity on their target career sector, enhancing their application documents and providing them with necessary skills for a successful school to work transition.
