Project Office Einstein Telescope EMR

Conduct a competitive intelligence analysis and help the Einstein Telescope Euregio Meuse-Rhine to position itself as the winning candidate in Europe’s race for the future of gravitational wave research.

The Project

The Project

The Einstein Telescope Euregio Meuse-Rhine (EMR) represents one of Europe’s most ambitious scientific endeavors; a proposed next-generation gravitational wave observatory that will allow us to listen to the universe in unprecedented detail. From deep below the rolling hills of Limburg, this project connects science, technology, and society on a truly international scale.

But before construction begins, the EMR must win the European competition against strong contenders in Sardinia and Saxony. That is where your contribution as a PREMIUM student comes in.

This project challenges you to conduct a competitive intelligence analysis of the other bids; examining how Sardinia and Saxony communicate their strengths, mobilize political and financial support, and engage public and private stakeholders.
You will assess their communication strategies, regional initiatives, and policy frameworks, as well as how each candidate presents itself to the Board of Governmental Representatives (BGR) that will ultimately decide where the telescope will be built.

Your work will go beyond simple comparison. The outcome of your project will actively help the EMR project office transform its bidbook into a living, strategic document, one that not only highlights why the EMR is a strong candidate, but clearly demonstrates why it is the best. By identifying competitors’ strengths, weaknesses, and gaps, you will help refine the EMR’s messaging, strengthen stakeholder alignment, and contribute to a winning positioning strategy for one of the most visionary research infrastructures of our time.

Are you fascinated by the mysteries of the universe?
Do you believe in the power of innovation?
Do you want to work for a multidisciplinary and international environment?
Are you ready to dedicate your time and energy to a unique, cutting-edge project—one that is essential for our region and for generations to come?

Then look no further! Join our efforts at the Einstein Telescope Euregio Meuse-Rhine and share your knowledge, creativity, and analytical skills to help secure the winning bid. Together, we will boldly go where no one has gone before!

Research-oriented

In this project, the focus is on “discovering something new”

The Client

The Client

The project office of the Einstein Telescope Euregio Meuse-Rhine (EMR) is based in Maastricht. Preparing the joint candidacy of the three partner countries (the Netherlands, Belgium, and Germany) requires thorough coordination. A wide range of partners and disciplines are already working closely together on the project. While some are investigating the suitability of the region’s ground and bedrock, others are building a network of engaged companies and research institutions, or assessing the potential economic impact of the Einstein Telescope. Ultimately, the Boards of Governmental Representatives (BGR) from several countries will decide, based on detailed bid books, which region will be selected to host this groundbreaking research infrastructure.

Co-Creator Client

This client might join the team for brainstorm sessions, meetings, and preparatory sessions. The co-creator is more actively involved in/during the project execution.
We can also learn a lot by being involved during the project and use this knowledge to refine our process.
