The Mosa Ballet School, based in Liège, Belgium, is an international centre of excellence where artistic mastery and human values meet. Combining top-level classical and contemporary dance training with full secondary education, Mosa nurtures young talents from around the world to grow as both artists and individuals. Beyond the stage, its foundation, Quand on Danse, brings dance into hospitals, elderly homes, and vulnerable communities, using movement and creativity to foster well-being, inclusion, and therapeutic benefits.
While Mosa’s contribution to culture and society is evident in daily practice, it has never been systematically measured. The organization knows it generates local employment, economic activity, international visibility, and social impact—yet the absence of structured data makes it difficult to quantify this contribution when communicating with stakeholders, policymakers, and funders.
This PREMIUM project aims to fill that gap through a research-based assessment of Mosa’s economic and societal impact. Students will explore how the school interacts with its environment, from local spending patterns and job creation to cultural engagement and social participation through Quand on Danse. The challenge lies in translating qualitative and quantitative findings into credible, evidence-based insights that show how a cultural institution like Mosa contributes to regional development and social cohesion.
Your team may consider questions such as:
- What are the measurable economic effects of Mosa’s presence in Liège and the broader region?
- How does Mosa’s outreach work generate social and community value?
- In what ways does international visibility in the arts translate into broader societal benefits?
By analyzing data, comparing stakeholder perspectives, and structuring findings, the project will help Mosa articulate its full value—not only as a school of artistic excellence, but also as a driver of economic vitality and social inclusion.
For students, this is a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of culture, economics, and social research. Your findings will directly inform Mosa’s strategic development, strengthening its case for both public and private investment, and helping demonstrate why supporting the arts means investing in community well-being and sustainable regional growth.
