Communicating successfully with your students online

Clear, structured, emphatic and effective communication is crucial for good student engagement in online education. Here are some tips for doing this more successfully.

Using peer review to stimulate group discussion and critical thinking

Groupwork can create a rich learning experience for students, helping them to develop new skills and learn from each other.  To actively engage students and encourage critical thinking, you could try using peer review in your education.  FeedbackFruits offers many different ways of doing this: by focusing peer review around documents, articles, videos or even by getting them to review and evaluate the contributions or work of their group members.  In this series of 2 videos we’ll discuss these possibilities.  Further information on setting up a peer review of a video can be found here and assistance in setting up peer review of student work can be found here.  For more help, you can also watch this video on group member evaluation.
