The University Sports Centre way of Studying

Last month the University Library opened its brand new learning spaces in the University Sports Centre. With the opening of the new sport centre a multifunctional location was introduced that does not only support a healthy way of living but also a healthy way of studying! Apart from state of the art sport facilities the building now hosts innovative learning spaces for UM students thanks to a unique collaboration between the University Library and the University Sports Centre.

As the first university sports centre in the world, the USC hosts a multifunctional space where sports and studying interact on such a large scale. Not only does the building host multiple quiet study rooms, from March onwards a dynamic open learning space will open where you can do your readings whilst following a soccer game or waving to someone on the climbing wall. Start your day in the gym, do your readings and join a group class to finish the day. Have a break in the Sport Cafe Time Out to recharge, offering anything from breakfast to dinner or drinks.

Apart from promoting a healthy life through the overload of activities to join at the USC, the University Library has also invested its knowledge in developing an innovative and healthy and dynamic way of studying in line with EDLAB’s Education That Moves You philosophy. All quiet study rooms are provided with inventive seats to allow for a dynamic and productive learning experience. The learning space also includes a room with standing tables to avoid long sitting hours, which will also be incorporated into the open learning spaces to open later this year.

Try it out yourself and experience a healthy and dynamic way of studying!
