You’ll also get to explore aspects of education research design and planning, such as timing, scope, ethics, sampling, and how the intended audiences for your research might influence your choices.

Meet the workshop facilitator

Gabriella Tisza, PhD is an educational psychologist and an assistant professor at Maastricht University, where she works within the Taskforce Programme Evaluation on ensuring the educational quality of the Bachelor of Medicine programme. In parallel, within the School of Health Professions Education, she conducts research on the responsible integration of technology and artificial intelligence in education, aiming to support the meaningful use of technology in learning activities. Before joining Maastricht University, she completed her PhD at Eindhoven University of Technology, where she investigated the role of fun in learning, particularly within STEM education. Her research combined insights from psychology, education, technology, and data analysis to develop a model explaining how enjoyment contributes to learning outcomes.

This workshop is the second in a professional development series dedicated to supporting Maastricht University staff who want to learn to conduct research on their own education practice. The series covers a variety of topics including but not limited to education research design, interdisciplinary collaboration, and research communication. It will be supplemented by the launch of a UM-wide community of practice on education research later this spring, as well as the UM Education Research Day conference coming up in November.

Join EDLAB’s group on UMployee and subscribe to our monthly newsletter to stay informed about these and other upcoming events.

Workshop 2: Education research methods and design EDLAB education research professional development workshop series Date: Thursday 26 March 2026 Start time: 13:30 End time: 15:30 Location: EDLAB, Tapijnkazerne 23, Building X When you have an idea for an education research study, the next step is getting down to the details: which method(s) will best address …

Continue reading “Workshop 2: Education research methods and design”

["post-3982","page","type-page","status-publish","hentry
["GET
