This short session explores how AI-powered worldbuilding can transform the classroom from passive learning into shared adventure. Drawing on live teaching cases\u2014from leadership simulations to medical training\u2014you\u2019ll see how narrative design and generative tools can immerse learners in complex, human-centred worlds.\u00a0 Participants will learn how to adapt these techniques to their own disciplines, using AI to boost engagement, critical thinking, and collaboration\u2014whether teaching in person or online.<\/p>\n<p>This will be followed by Connie Drosinou from University College Venlo sharing her experiences in designing assignments that both embrace and move beyond generative AI:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Integrating GenAI into Assessment to Deepen Course Learning and Teach Critical Thinking<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Summary of Example Assignment integrating GenAI: This assignment integrates generative AI (GenAI) as a catalyst for critical thinking rather than an all-knowing tool to produce answers. Students must use GenAI to explore a performance psychology topic of their own choice, then critically evaluate the accuracy, biases, and scientific validity of the outputs. They compare findings in small groups, synthesize insights, and deliver a group presentation. His work combines management education, narrative design, and simulation to help students explore complex human systems through creative, experiential methods. Dave teaches across executive and postgraduate levels, guiding professionals through adaptive challenges in leadership, ethics, and innovation. His current focus is integrating generative AI into course design to make learning more engaging, participatory, and relevant to the real world.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Connie Drosinou<\/strong> is a lecturer and researcher at University College Venlo at the Faculty of Science and Engineering with background in Nutrition and Epidemiology. Connie also serves on the Board of Examiners of Maastricht School of Liberal Arts and Sciences.
