{"id":2913,"date":"2024-02-15T09:24:26","date_gmt":"2024-02-15T09:24:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/edlab.nl\/slottr\/?page_id=2913"},"modified":"2024-02-15T15:00:34","modified_gmt":"2024-02-15T15:00:34","slug":"information-session-edlab-education-research-grants","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/edlab.nl\/slottr\/information-session-edlab-education-research-grants\/","title":{"rendered":"Interactive Info Session EDLAB Education Research Grants"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1>Are you ready to turn your education research idea into reality?<\/h1>\n<p>Yes, of course&#8230; but wait\u2014why\u2026 what\u2026 how\u2026.?!<\/p>\n<p>Join us for an interactive information session about the EDLAB Education Research Grants.<\/p>\n<p>Online via Zoom, on Wednesday 28 February 2024, 13:30-15:00.<\/p>\n<p><strong>In this session, you will:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Receive an overview of the EDLAB education research grant programme from Alice Pan, EDLAB Coordinator for Education Research<\/li>\n<li>Hear from a prior year grant winner, about the process of applying for the grant as well as conducting a short-term education research project\u2014and tips for how to make it successful<\/li>\n<li>Learn how to craft a strong research project proposal<\/li>\n<li>Engage in activities designed to help you clarify and refine your project ideas<\/li>\n<li>Have your questions answered in a live Q&amp;A<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>As an added bonus, you\u2019ll be able to meet fellow potential applicants\u2014and we\u2019re currently planning a follow-up session focused on networking for potential grant applicants, so stay tuned!<\/p>\n<p><strong>What to do beforehand:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>To get the most out of the session, complete the following brainstorm exercise (and if you\u2019re already feeling more confident, try the challenge tasks as well):<\/p>\n<p><strong>Brainstorm<\/strong>: consider the following questions, and try to write out your answers in max 200 words; feel free to use bullet points or mindmapping or other brainstorming techniques you find helpful:<\/p>\n<p>What do you want to study \/ what are you curious to learn more about?<\/p>\n<p>Why is it important both to you and others involved in education?<\/p>\n<p>What inspires you to want to conduct education research, and how does it connect with your professional development?<\/p>\n<p>*<strong>Challenge 1<\/strong>: Draft your \u2018Project Summary:\u00a0<em>Please describe, briefly, the main purpose and goal(s) of the project. (max. 100 words)<\/em>\u2019 (Step 1 in the<a href=\"https:\/\/www.maastrichtuniversity.nl\/file\/edlab-education-research-grant-2024project-proposaldocx\"> Project Proposal Template<\/a>)<\/p>\n<p><strong>**Challenge 2<\/strong>: Identify concrete next steps: what do you still need to find out \/ learn more about? Existing research on the topic? Ethics permission to conduct the study you have in mind?
