With our experience in teaching and supervising students we will all agree that reflecting on your practice is an important tool to understand and monitor your progress and professional growth. Thus making professionalisation meaningful. But what exactly is reflection? Why is it important and what are helpful models that can support you to reflect effectively? In this 2-hour online workshop<\/strong> we will take a closer look at these questions and highlight the relevance of reflection in professional development of teachers and learners.<\/p>\n

Intended learning outcomes<\/strong><\/p>\n

In participating in this CPD activity, you will:<\/p>\n

… gain insight into how reflecting on your teaching can benefit your own professionalisation and teaching and learning activities,
\n… learn more about the ALACT Model by Fred Korthagen and how to use it effectively,
\n… discuss the relation between theory and practice leading to meaningful (teaching) professionalisation.<\/p>\n

About the trainer<\/strong><\/p>\n

Eveline Persoon<\/strong> (EDLAB) is passionate about teaching, learning and psychology. Eveline teaches psychology courses at UCM and facilitates professional development in teaching and learning activities at EDLAB. During her Bachelor in Education Eveline was introduced to the power of reflection and the ALACT model by Fred Korthagen. She still applies these principles and the model in her own professionalisation and teaching practices and looks forward to share these practices with others.<\/p>\n

A note about the costs
\n<\/strong>EDLAB is currently offering all CPD activities free of charge. Please note however that we have paid to develop and offer this session together with the trainers, so if you sign up but cannot attend, we would greatly appreciate it if you could give us at least 5 days\u2019 notice so that we can advertise your spot to others who may be interested. Cancellation without at least 5 days\u2019 notice or failure to show up may result in your department being charged the full cost price.<\/p>\n
