{"id":1043,"date":"2020-09-29T08:22:58","date_gmt":"2020-09-29T08:22:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/edlab.nl\/slottr\/?page_id=1043"},"modified":"2021-12-21T12:13:02","modified_gmt":"2021-12-21T12:13:02","slug":"teachingoncamera","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/edlab.nl\/slottr\/teachingoncamera\/","title":{"rendered":"CPD Online skills training for teaching on-camera"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Online workshop:\u00a0 Skills training for on-camera teaching<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Workshop description<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This practical training is designed for UM teaching staff who would like to improve their on\u2011camera teaching skills for a variety of online and remote education scenarios.<\/p>\n<p>At the end of this three hour online workshop, you will feel more confident in teaching to the camera and be able to convey information more effectively to students.\u00a0 Our aim is to enhance the educational experience of your students, whether you are teaching online via live video sessions or when making recorded material for educational purposes.<\/p>\n<p>In this workshop, you will learn how to hone your on-camera teaching and presentation skills to perfection by covering the following topics:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Framing the shot, background and sound.<\/li>\n<li>Body language and appearance.<\/li>\n<li>Pace, tone and pitch.<\/li>\n<li>Pausing, projecting and enunciating.<\/li>\n<li>Engaging people in different scenarios.<\/li>\n<li>Increasing your confidence on camera.<\/li>\n<li>Talking to the lens \u2013 how not to appear wooden<\/li>\n<li>What to say in a piece to camera \u2013 scripting and bullet points.<\/li>\n<li>Voice over techniques when talking over pictures, video and powerpoints<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Because this is a small-group session, you will also have the opportunity to practise and get direct feedback from our trainer, Julian Dismore.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: red;\"><strong>PLEASE NOTE<\/strong> that this workshop is in English and planned to take place via zoom.
