CPD: The Teaching Trick – One year on

The Teaching Trick – One year on

In January 2022, EDLAB was delighted to host a webinar by Kristina Edstrom, Associate Professor in Engineering Education Development at KTH Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm, Sweden.

This webinar focused on how to improve student learning without spending more time teaching.  During the presentation, Kristina provided some fantastic examples from her colleagues as inspiration.  Many of us went away feeling motivated to rethink our education and our workload.

Perhaps you too had a great idea to try out in your own education, or are still making plans for your next course?

In this informal CPD session, we will briefly recap some of the examples from the webinar and reflect upon:

  • What have we learnt? – what were your key takeaways from the webinar?
  • What have you tried out already?
  • What do you want to try next?

At the start of this session we will ask a few people to pitch what their experiences have been having tried something new in their education, or what their plans are for upcoming education.

We will then join different tables where colleagues can share experiences in more detail and make clearer plans for going further.  We’ll then switch the groups around so you can gather input from other colleagues.

If you have already tried something new in your teaching during the last year, please let us know in advance of the session by emailing us at edlab-edservices@maastrichtuniversity.nl

For those of you who want a recap, the webinar recording is still available online (you need to log in first) and the slides are available here.

This activity will be offered on-site (at EDLAB) on February 28, 2023, from 09.30-11.30 CET and you can sign up below:
