CPD Kick-off presentation: The Era of AI and its impact on Higher Education
On Tuesday 26th September, we’ll be kicking off EDLAB’s CPD activities this year with a guest presentation and workshop on the impact of A.I. in Higher Education.
Spaces to attend the full programme for the morning, on location at EDLAB are already full. But if you didn’t manage to get a seat, we’re happy to annouce that you’ll be able to watch the live stream of the presentation part of the programme at 9.45am – 11.00am.

Presentation description: Educational practice for an AI world
Dr. Mairéad Pratschke, Professor and Chair in Digital Education in the School of Arts, Languages and Cultures at the University of Manchester, will provide a high-level overview of recent developments in generative AI, explain their potential impact on higher education, and suggest an approach to designing teaching, learning and assessment for the AI age.
About our guest speaker
Mairéad Pratschke is Professor and Chair in Digital Education in the School of Arts, Languages and Cultures at the University of Manchester. Her career has straddled the worlds of higher education, education technology, professional and continuing education, and edtech start-ups. Irish-born, she has worked in Canada, the USA, Belgium and Spain, in multiple languages and sectors, as a researcher, designer, lecturer, director and consultant for digital programmes in the arts, humanities, social sciences, sports and business.
