CPD: Creating and using rubrics for assessment 4 Febr 2020

4 February 2020
10:00h – 12:00h

Creating and using rubrics for assessment
Rubrics and scoring sheets can make the assessment process more consistent, transparent and easier for you as an instructor and assessor.  They can also help you to provide effective feedback to students.  But there are so many different types of grading sheets and rubric designs to choose from, how do you know which would suit your assignments and students the best?  This workshop offers you the opportunity to test out and evaluate a few different rubric types, discuss your needs and consider which types of rubrics suit your courses.  Tips about rubric development, their implementation and scoring will be discussed and there will be time to share practical experiences within the group.

Target audience
Those wanting to know more about the creation and use of rubrics for assessing student work (examiners, course coordinators, board of examiner members, tutors).

Duration
1 x 2 hour interactive workshop

Costs
41 euros per person

Your faculty will be billed directly for this training but your registration requires a budget number to be submitted upfront (except for FHML where this number is already known to EDLAB, in that case please just insert “FHML” upon signing up, rather than a budget number).

Cancellation fees
For participants who cancel their registration from a workshop or a course, within fewer than ten working days before the start, their administrative unit will be charged 25% of the cost price. Cancellation within fewer than five working days before the course starts, or failure to show up for the session, will result in the administrative unit being charged 100% of the cost price.

The workshop will take place at EDLAB, TAPX (Building X, Sint Hubertuslaan 12), room 1.001.  The session will be given in English.
