360 videos in education

Virtual reality for education: Discover the immersive world of 360-degree videos in education

Have you ever experienced 360 videos?  They offer a hugely immersive experience, unlike watching standard videos: you control the view, feel the emotions of those around you and absorb the atmosphere of the environment.

Nynke de Jong and a small team at UM have been experimenting with these kinds of experiences for healthcare education and also for training and preparing tutors for their teaching at UM.  Come and experience these 360-degree videos yourself and find out how you could eventually use or develop your own.

This activity may count towards your Continuing Professional Development (CPD) if relevant to your situation.

Intended Learning Outcomes:

By participating in this activity, you will …

  • … experience various 360 degree videos with the use of VR glasses,
  • … discuss the use of 360 degree videos in education,
  • … discuss how you could integrate 360 degree videos in your education.

Please note that during this session VR glasses will be used to show the 360 degree videos. If you have any questions about the VR glasses you can direct them to the trainer.

Please be aware that this session takes place at Duboisdomein 30 (Randwyck).
