This research project collected and evaluated experience of UM students and staff with emergency remote learning during the early stage of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Here, too, qualitative and quantitative data was collected in order to draw lessons learned for the future of UM.

The EDview Project

The EDview project was a research project that reflected on Maastricht University’s educational philosophy and practice around and beyond Problem-Based Learning (PBL).

Based on qualitative and quantitative research that aimed to capture the experiences and perspectives of UM staff and students, the project defined the UM philosophy of education – supplemented by a list of Do’s, Dont’s and Don’t Knows.

The project gave room to evidence-based educational change, a more creative and flexible PBL practice along the principles of constructive, collaborative, contextual, and self-directed learning, and much more.
