As EQUANS, we advise our customers as completely as possible. Not only do we provide the best technological solution, we also help companies with the actual step to implementation of sustainable energy installations.

Investments in sustainable solutions are often made on the basis of a reasonable payback period. Usually within five years or less. The costs precede the benefits. Depending on the installations, this can cost from 100k to several million euros, and not every company has the resources to finance this themselves. The challenge for EQUANS therefore lies in knowing exactly what best way of funding is available to a specific client.

Various options exist for financing sustainable installations. (bank loans, government funds, EU funds, crowdfunding and private investment platforms, financing by EQUANS (off balance with partners in an SPV)). These options all have different terms, requirements, capacity, financing size, legal conditions, etc. And not all options might suit every company and its specific needs, or the technical solution we are proposing.

We request the help of PREMIUM students, to perform a market analysis into the landscape of ways of funding. We want to gain insight into what possibilities exist, what different aspects there are regarding contracts, financial and tax rules, off or on balance financing, ownership in financing, obligations for insurance and technical management, etc.
Other aspects to looking into: what the acceptance rate is of the various ways of funding, their restrictions and requirements, (social) support base, carbon footprint, and legal implications.

We would therefore be very much helped by an easy-to-use overview that can be applied in a ready to go and practical way in meetings with our (prospective) clients. This should give our clients more insights into the various options, lower the threshold and help them start work on how they will finance the investment of sustainable energy installations. the results of this PREMIUM project will help us in our daily work to advise our clients integrally. And thereby successfully execute more sustainable projects.
