“Data is the new gold” is an often-used phrase in today’s digital world and making effective use of data is key for the success of any project.
We, the UM-department of StudentenStad have student participation embedded in our philosophy, and we want to ensure that students have a positive, enriching experience in Maastricht while feeling connected to the city.
To do so more effectively, we require a system that funnels and analyses data from our web- and social media presence, to subsequently adapt our communication strategy accordingly over time.
Our department consists of projects such as mymaastricht.nl, Match and Kaleido, sharing societal relevant goals to connect and inform students. Societal engagement and community binding are key goals of our department, and next to a more effective way of using our data, we want to evaluate our ethical policies regarding communication.
For this year’s PREMIUM project, we need the help of a motivated, creative, tech-savvy and interdisciplinary team of students to set up a communication strategy with a proper built data analysis infrastructure, for our department.
All our executed projects follow the process of research, trial, evaluation, and good documentation. We are looking for a team that assures good documentation on how to build such an infrastructure, and implements and tests it. It’s knowledge that we are lacking and we look forward to you enlightening us and let us be amazed.
Are you passionate about data analysis or digital communication in general? Then this project is for you. Your contribution can help us to translate the collected data from our digital outings into a communication strategy, in collaboration with our communication expert. Doing this, you help both us and all students in Maastricht to be better informed about the various ways they may contribute to the city we live in.
