‘University Library 2030’
Do you love to combine creative and logical thinking? Interested in learning and education? In diversity and inclusion? Do you care for our future by using sustainable and circular methods? Do you like tangible results? Then take this unique chance to create a completely new, futuristic University Library in Maastricht.
This interdisciplinary project is a collaboration between the University and the firm Eromesmarko. Eromesmarko is a reputable and dynamic company in developing, designing and implementing education spaces. The University Library is one of the most visited locations of Maastricht University. The UL provides more than 3,000 workplaces for 22,000 students, and it’s still growing.
That’s why, in this project, you’ll investigate students’ desires for the future UL facilities. Obviously, you must take into account the UM-policy on diversity, inclusivity and accessibility, and broader priorities like sustainability and digitalisation. In the end, you’ll draw up a plan for UM’s ‘University Library 2030’.
In this project you’ll gain experience in project management and -participation, observing, interviewing, design, co-creating, developing ideas into realistic plans, and many other skills you’ll need in your future career. Furthermore you’ll contribute to the study success and wellbeing of the future generations of UM students.
