We dare you to solve the accessibility of the housing market in the Netherlands!
The last couple of years the Netherlands has seen a steady decline in the availability and affordability of houses. When it comes to affordability the Netherlands has a strict regime to base the mortgage on structural income (ie. Permanent contract). Through a financial advisor, buyers only apply to one or two mortgage providers.
The accessibility of mortgages needs a turnaround in our opinion. You can currently apply to a single provider and hope to get (1) accepted and (2) a good deal. This way, we have a closed market and rarely see an offering that is truly catered to the individual applicant and his/her situation.
We think that by turning this around, in a marketplace concept, many more applicants can find a provider that suits their needs. On top of that, mortgage providers have an opportunity to truly differentiate in their marketing and product offering.
To implement this marketplace concept, we need your help! Of course, we may encounter hurdles along the way and we need to negotiate and consult with experts, stakeholders and organisations, but we do not shy away from a challenge.
The assignment is to analyse the current situation from multiple viewpoints (business, economical, societal, juridical) and to propose both a solution and a change plan for all parties involved. In this project you will work together with financial institutions, supervisors and public institutes.
We are Davinci Consulting. We work on (societal) problems, to big for single entities to solve alone. In the past we’ve successfully setup (public-private) cooperation’s in the real estate, mortgage sector and more recently amongst parties involved in the settlement of an inheritance.
