IRIS DESIREE CLAESSENS

Help this Dutch sustainable jewelry designer to develop a growth strategy and to take her label to the next level.

The Project

The Project

Iris Desiree Claessens is a Dutch jewelry designer based in Maastricht, in the South of the Netherlands founded in 2018. Through her upbringing and an inherent interest she learned to love the wonders of nature. She now translates this appreciation for nature into jewelry pieces. The style of the jewelry is a combination of centuries old goldsmithing techniques with a modern minimalist design.

Although the goal for the label would be to be presented worldwide in the exclusive jewelry/ concept stores, key values such as a personal approach and a honest
and sustainable production line are engrained in the label’s core.

During the years, the label grew substantially, now being featured in L’Officiel (Cyprus and Monaco), Vogue, Harpers Bazaar and Glamour. The PREMIUM consultants will provide advice and develop the strategy to take the label to the next level. Students get creative freedom to alter the project to their interest in line with the label’s values. Through trial and error and thinking outside of the box, new creative ideas can immediately be tested and applied within the label.

Potential areas of focus could be:

  • further development of sustainable production processes and fair gold mining. Only recycled gold and used diamonds are used within the label. Contacts have been made in Peru and Colombia to put this process in motion. PREMIUM consultants could research sustainable possibilities to expand.
  • Find potential new markets for the brand to expand to. In this new market, suppliers, high-end jewelry stores and networking contacts have to be found. PREMIUM consultants could help build a business plan on how to approach this challenge and could set in motion the first steps.
  • Further improve the marketing strategy presented on different social media networks and the website. PREMIUM consultants could help develop a long-term strategy.

Design-oriented

In this project, the focus is on “creating something new”

Although the goal for the label would be to be presented worldwide in the exclusive jeweler/concept stores, key values such as a personal approach and a honest and sustainable production line are engrained in the label’s core.

As a young entrepreneur I feel I have a responsibility to the next generation to show an alternative approach to starting and running a business. It is easy to do things in a way that they have always been done. I am also a creative mind who doesn’t want to only make “pretty” new things, I also want to rethink how a business can be set up in a sustainable way. I want to grow my company so that I can also spread my ideas about sustainability and how we should use the worlds natural resources. I only use recycled gold and used diamonds, not because it is a profitable or marketable for my business, but because it is the only way to do this sustainably and therefore the only way it is worth doing at all.
